With an already hectic schedule, it's very easy to get wrapped up in the storm of things. As a business woman, everyday we go through a mental checklist, but do you know what you really need? If you don't, I it's okay! I have your back! Here are some "not so obvious" things that every girl boss needs that may have slipped your mind.
1. Support System
Every girl boss needs a support system! It's easy to say "I can do bad all by myself", but let's be honest going to happy hour every week is not as fun if you're not with your girls. Find one, maybe even two or three like-minded individuals to take on this journey with you. This group of women should serve as your personal consultants. You all can even inspire and brainstorm together. Now you have a shoulder to cry on, someone to depend on and someone to take your bomb pictures for social media!
1. Passport
You never know where life may take you, so it is better to be prepared. Don't wait until the you have a trip planned to get your passport, DO IT NOW! Honestly, you will travel more around the world if you already have it at your disposal. There are so many international opportunities out there, don't limit yourself! Traveling and learning about new cultures also sparks creativity. So get your coins right and go see the world!
3. Power Suit
Ladies, get your suits ready! and not your bathing suits this time. Every girl boss needs a power suit, tailored fit for them. Keep it traditional or purchase something more stylish. Either way, pick the appropriate attire for your industry. 4. HEELS LOW ENOUGH FOR WALKING
SIS, YOUR'RE NOT YOURSELF WHEN YOUR FEET HURT.
Heels can be your best friend or your worst enemy! Stilettos are cute honey but let's be honest , the pain can sometimes can be unbearable. I was taught in my college business leadership and development course that If you are conducting any type of business, it is appropriate to have on some type of heel. Find a heel that has the perfect heel height for you (2-3 1/2 inches will get the job done!). Even invest in some bomb shoe pads! Don't wait until after your cringing every step to realize that you need some different shoes.
5. Business Cards
Do not believe the myth that Business cards are "old fashioned". Not only is your first physical impression important, but business cards provide tangible information to others. Make your design memorable. Creative cards get shared! Potential clients can take this small piece of marketing with them that keeps you or your brand from just being a name that floats around in the ether. Also find a cute holder to keep them organized!
